Top 5 Of OCt. 2022
I don’t think it’s remotely farfetched to say that October 2022 has been the strongest month for AEW’s Women’s Division in AEW’s 3 year existence! Saraya joining AEW hasn’t caused the positive change in and of itself but her signing seems to have come as the harbinger of good things for this division.
For October I had singled out 12 women in consideration for AEW.ONE’s “Top 5”. I look at win-loss records (which I differentiate between whether they were on TV or YouTube), match ratings, character work, and overall momentum. To whittle my list down, I decided to cut anyone who hadn’t wrestled at least 3 matches so this eliminated Riho (1-1), understandably as she only recently returned, as well as Tay Melo (2-0), Jade Cargill (2-0), and Britt Baker (0-1).
I’ll give an honourary mention to the closest runner up Nyla Rose (3-0), the (literal) holder of the TBS Championship. The fact that Nyla Rose turn make a belt stealing angle in 2022 into scene stealing moments speaks volumes.

Summary
I’m thrilled to say that my article Willow Nightingale #AllElite When? is officially obsolete because Willow Nightingale is officially #AllElite! Willow’s stock has been on the rise this October, starting with scoring the pinfall victory in an awesome trios match alongside Toni Storm & Athena over Penelope Ford, Serena Deeb & Jamie Hayter. She was definitely a standout in that match and she carried that through right to the end of the month where she defeated Leila Grey on Rampage and was then after announced as being #AllElite. The original matchup was to be Willow vs Penelope Ford which would’ve been a more dramatic and bigger moment (as Leila Grey’s character is far down the pecking order compared to Ford) but the memory everyone will take home is Tony Schiavone making that announcement. Willow’s only loss in the month came at the hands of the undefeated Jade Cargill at Battle of the Belts 4 for the TBS Title.
