Nikki Victory, 0-4 in AEW, takes on The Professor Serena Deeb. Excalibur puts this week’s Over/Under at 2:25 to which Daddy Magic takes the over, continuing this gimmick.
The bell rings and Serena Deeb refuses to take her robe off to which Excalibur accuses Matt Menard as being in cahoots with Deeb. Deeb dominates the match with her robe on the whole time and doesn’t remove it until 1:45 in.
Deeb puts Nikki into a leg lock but rather than going for the win she flexes for the crowd as the Under expires and Daddy Magic celebrates his person win.
Deeb sets up Nikki for the Serenity lock but Victory escapes and starts throwing strikes at Serena who escapes to the apron. Nikki runs at Serena who slides under the bottom rope, rolls up Nikki but instead of going for a pin, uses her legs turn Victory into a seated position and then pulls up her arms while sitting on the back of her neck. I’m not sure what this submission is called but it looks painful. Nikki Victory submits.
I love the personality this match showed for Serena. I don’t know if the majority of fans catch these matches but for those of us who do, Serena Deeb has been kept nicely heated up. She looks like she could beat anyone on the roster or at least give them the best match of their career.

Note: Just because I give a match a low rating doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy it for what it was nor is it necessarily a commentary on the competitors. Not all matches are meant to be 3-to-5 star matches.
