I had a hard time getting a feel for what Devlyn Macabre’s character is supposed to be, not that that’s what these matches are for but I always like to see if I can tell. She has ring gear similar to Red Velvet’s except it’s green and she’s a ginger… Actually maybe she should be Red Velvet in that case? Let’s not read too much into it, this was an enhancement match after all.
Macabre actually gets a bit of offence in after a drop trip which is one of those moves I’m kind of a mark for because for years we’ve seen wrestlers just do that for the sole purpose of following that up with a leap frog so it kinda POPs me when it’s used as an actual maneuver.
Bryce Remsburg gets a heat spot when he physically pulls Diamanté off Macabre in the corner. Then he does it again when Diamanté won’t stop a ground and pound with a closed fist. Pretty good strategy by Diamanté to get away with it though. This sells Diamanté as maybe a bit too vicious.
Diamanté and Macabre exchange some decent looking stiff shots. Macabre trips Diamanté and gets in a head kick. Diamanté reverses and hits three German Suplexes and then finally ends it with… Not sure what this submission move is called. Excalibur mentions “half straight jacket” and “crossface”. See if you can tell. It looks effective in any case.
Note: Just because I give a match a low rating doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy it for what it was nor is it necessarily a commentary on the competitors. Not all matches are meant to be 3-to-5 star matches.
