This is Megan Meyers’ second ever appearance in AEW. You can check out her only other match from the Jan. 26th episode of Dark Elevation by clicking here. Meyers’ persona, I don’t want to say she’s a witch, more like someone who’s into witchcraft. The fact that she hails from Salem, Massachusetts would seem to back that up. She’s got 4 years and 53 matches under her belt according to CageMatch.
Anna Jay comes to the ring with -1. Meyers starts the match by doing some kind of contortion gimmick. “Contortion Jones!” I’m sure Taz would say if he were at the desk. Meyers has a decent “dark” look and some okay strikes but otherwise is pretty raw. Anna Jay can always invoke a reaction from the crowd with her war cry.
The match ends with Anna Jay hitting a couple of her newer moves; The one where she rolls to the corner and kicks a seated opponent in the head and then another where she gets her opponent to fall into a lying Queen Slayer. Although I’ll say the finish wasn’t done as smoothly as it was
Not a great match. I definitely wasn’t feeling the illusion of two people competing head-to-head, rather it felt like Anna Jay lead Meyers through the match. Still, to be able to go over two-minutes in front of 13,000 people isn’t nothing.

Note: Just because I give a match a low rating doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy it for what it was nor is it necessarily a commentary on the competitors. Not all matches are meant to be 3-to-5 star matches.
